Playing For Charity

Charity and giving back is a huge component of the ZogSports experience. We have donated over $3 million on behalf of our teams. Every team selects a charity before the season that they are playing for. At the end of the season, we donate 10% of net proceeds, 100% of Happy Hour bar contributions, and an allocation from our sponsors to a charity pool, divvied up among the winning teams.

Charities that have received donations from ZogSports in the past include Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center, ASPCA, American Cancer Society, Boomer Esiason Foundation, St Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital and Make-a-Wish Foundation of America. Over the next few months, we will be highlighting our players stories behind why they chose these causes and how they are special to them.

Happily Ever Zogger

ZogSports Mission: Bring People Together | Create Highlights | Make A Difference

We always love to hear stories from Zoggers who have lived out the ZogSports mission, like Ann Marie’s…

I am so fortunate to benefit from ZogSports’ vision for a better future.

I joined Hoboken’s ZogSports a year after losing my fiancé to a brain aneurism almost ten years ago. I didn’t know at that time if I could ever be happy again. Everyone I knew was either getting married or married with kids, except me. Widowed at 30, I felt like my old life didn’t fit me anymore. I knew I needed to meet people my age but it is so hard to make friends when you are in your 30’s. I didn’t think I had any particularly interesting hobbies, and was never the athletic type, so I was intimidated easily by sports. Lucky for me to have found ZogSports which offered a variety of organized sports that catered to all skill levels (including the two I joined: kickball and dodgeball). These weekly games kept me out of the house and for lack of better words, saved my life.

It was during my first season as a Zogger where my now husband said he noticed me. We were out celebrating our respective games and exchanged a quick introduction. He told me later that he always looked for me after the games to see if we could meet up again. Four seasons later, the timing seemed right on both our ends and he asked me out. He seemed to know long before I did that we would end up together. Seven years later, We are happily married with our third child on the way this January.

I will always be forever grateful for ZogSports. It changed the trajectory of my life and allowed me to have a happy ending after all.

We couldn’t be happier to have played the role in your life that we did, Ann Marie!  Congratulations to you and your family.

Highlight of the Week – An Easy Change

What is your ZogSports Highlight?

“My first experience with the ZogSports Family was when I first moved to the US from Italy and I joined ZogSports in New York. It was a great place to meet new friends. I knew moving to Philly would be an easy change for me, because I was sure I would be able to meet new amazing people through ZogSports Philly that would soon become friends. And I was 100% right!”

The 3 reasons why people are playing in social sports leagues this summer

Summer registration is open and leagues are selling out fast.  Why?

Here are the Top 3 Reasons why people are playing ZogSports this summer:

Highlight of the Week – That’s Hilarious

What is your ZogSports Highlight?

“I signed up for Dodgeball on Monday nights with some family and friends and it has become the highlight of the week. There is something hilariously competitive about throwing a ball as hard as you can at another adult, for no other reason than because you are allowed to. We laugh, sweat, and make fun of each other. But get to throw balls at each other – that’s hilarious..

Highlight of the Week – The Hawk Will Never Die

What is your ZogSports Highlight?

“Our team looked forward to our dodgeball games every Thursday, but our highlight was definitely winning the championship game. While some of us began as strangers, our team became close over the weeks we played together and it was awesome to share our big win together. Besides bragging rights, our win donated money to the Kinney Center, a center for children with autism, at our alma mater, Saint Joseph’s University. We are looking forward to some new competition in kickball this spring!
